Anah Patton is a retired trade Journalist and Columnist. Her poetry has been published in national magazines. Her first children's book, entitled "The Bird Watchers," is a charming verse story about friendship, generosity, and the relationship between old and young. In colorful style, the author enters the world of young imagination and creates a place the young delight to enter. Her book is listed in the Whittakers Book Information, United Kingdom and the Book Seller List. To order contact Minerva Press, Direct line -0171-581-5612. She prefers the traditional in poetry writing and concludes that young poets should be exposed to the poetry of yesteryear. Poetry appreciation, like music appreciation, should be taught in schools today.

Learn With A Child

Learn to laugh with a child aloud in glee
And the sunshine of the mind will free
All ugliness of care
You may have hiding there.
Learn to play with a child
With a game of make believe.
You will achieve a princely goal
That pays homage to the soul.
Learn to live with a child
With a game of make believe.
You will achieve a princely goal
That pays homage to the soul.
Learn to live with a child
Respectably, honorably,
And the years will come to show
An inner glow you possessed
Yet never guessed
Until the child had taught you so.
