Every Secret Death I Die

I've got the rain lashing at my face...
at such a fever pace...
And I cannot stand this down pour, anymore!

And the night's as black as pitch...
a complete paradigm shift...
And I just sit and watch it transcend, again!

I think I see you in my dreams.
A far escape from life as it seems.
Lift up the veil and just let me feel,
What would it take to make this real?

Because every secret death I die...

This was actually a song that I had to scrap, but loved the words, so I kept it.

You know Edgar Allen Poe refered to sleep as little pieces of death. He hated to sleep. Nice poem, It made me feel a bit uneasy . This poem worked for me. Well done..

This is good, but somehow the last line isn't fitting for me, you could end it with Because every secret death I die, and let the reader consider their own feelings about the multitude of deaths that they may experience. comeback, or grow to, strengthened,

I went ahead and edited that line out. Thanks for the critique!

leaving words out and not quite completing thoughts leave me somewhat bewildered. Vague.
