You Raised Me

I had you when I was young,
And I didn't have a clue,
I spent alot of time reading,
So I'd know just what to do.
You were my responsiblity,
Right from the very start,
I would raise you up to be,
A gentle loving heart.
There were many endless nights,
I'd spend rocking you to sleep,
Sometimes I layed beside you,
To calm you as you weep.
I tryed to be the best Mom,
That there could ever be,
I gave you all the love,
That I kept inside of me.
You gave me that love back,
In such a thoughtful way,
The smile on your face,
Would brighten up my day.
I miss those days gone by,
Proudly looking back I see,
You made me the best Mom,
Because you raised me.
