The Unrequited Waits for Me

by Howard Robert Manser

I wish there were a means for me, my feelings to express.
To emphasize and convey for all, the elements of emptiness.
There is I know, one out there, A love I must address.
To satiate the gnawing pangs of vacant loneliness.
\I wish there was a avenue, to chance upon true love.
Accept that love, mature that love, and hold high above.
A comradeship, a union pure, relationship of pleasure.
A real love, true devotion, one that we would treasure.
\There is potential I must say, with hesidance admit.
For one like you, an aberration, with which I should commit.
I hope one day, that you will see, the folly of your error
To go with me, dismiss these thoughts, of love's impending terror
\There is a day, I know, I see...
The unrequited waits for me.
