The Soul Of Man

by Lisa D Wadford

I can feel your love, even as you weep
For this was not the promise
Your children swore to keep.
Do you ever feel, you may have died in vain
And if you could, I wonder
Would you do it all again.
Sometimes I close my eyes and I can feel your pain
For all of those you love are killing in your name.
Why is there so much hate, I don't understand
I pray its not to late to save the soul of man.
The insanity I see, the depravity of men
The bloodiness of war, will it never end.
The steeples that are built
To house those that believe
Are slowly crumbling, due to their own greed.
I feel a heavy burden, a hush, a since of doom
A feeling that the end may be coming soon.
Can't you feel his love, even while he weeps
For this was not the promise
We swore to him we'd keep.
