The Moments We Share

by Howard Robert Manser

The stolen moments, every day or two, Are the only moments
I have with you. Clandestine encounters, a voice in the distance
Determined, tenacious, resolute persistence.
\A ransom, a treasure, or chest of gold, Are inadequate descriptions,
may I be so bold. With wealth or good fortune, none dare compare
To the seconds, the minutes, the hours we share.
\Chitchat exchanges, hours of chatter, Searching and probing,
we examine each matter, Cerebral arousal, two spirits in longing
First searching, then finding a need for belonging
\Long days, lengthy nights...hard to get through,
When all that I have are these moments with you. Love is the fuel,
this match has ignited, Together one-day, two souls, forever united.
\First in the morning, then throughout the night
These thoughts are the vehicles of fancy and flight.
Pensive conjecture is a constant companion
My heart unshackled, set free, inhibition abandoned.
\Love's funny, amusing, it invades every hour
From a seed, to a sprout, to a blossoming flower
The moments we share, bring us closer together
Through H*** and high water in good and bad weather.
