Roses and Snowflakes

by Mary (Poe) Ann Tootle

Roses and snowflakes,
Are worlds apart,
In color and texture,
But not in my heart.
\They both have such beauty,
Such majesty and grace,
They bring conflicting emotions,
Either joy or sadness to my face.
\They can mean new life or death,
Whichever the case,
Of smiles or of tears,
Only time can erase.
\Their beauty lives on,
Their meaning as well,
And as with Destiny,
Tears, flakes, and petals, all fell.
