Peripheral

by Steven Sarkis Bilezikian

I am peripheral.
Skimming the surface of relevance,
I exist only in the fleetest of thoughts.
Spared only on occassion,
You will find no importance in them, or me.
Keep me from the center of your world.
I lack gravity.
I flit from the sidelines of affairs.
Alone, alone, I give little.
My glory is my downfall.
Swim in my eyes, fall from the sky for me.
You will crash and burn, as I stand watching.
I would bleed for you,
But would you accept my sacrifice?
Or would you fail to notice it at all?
I'm nothing to you.
It's okay.
You can admit it it.
