Married 60 Years by Ann Savoy

by Ann Savoy

Marriage is a blessing, a sacred affair
Affection so fragile, handled with care
All must remember, your wedding day
A moment to cherish and be on display
Silver is done & gold you have spent
The precious diamond is now the event
Words on my heart are uncut, yet so clear
The design of two hearts treasured & dear
An intricate stone found out in the rough
Can this be compared? Is this enough
The angels cry no! from high up above
Neither jewel nor gem shines as true love
If ere a poet could verse it just right
No rhyme or limerick or verb and insight
Could capture the moment so very bright
Brought forth by your hearts on this special night
