"It is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game."
The feeling is right, the translation lost its aim.
Statements like this time has dulled.
In a period now, where effort has lulled.
Children are taught to play nice.
When they ought to chase the prize.
Not for the glory of victory or accolades that wane.
Its the skills gained in these pursuits that belong in halls of fame.
But not the competence of playing nice, another concept confused.
Playing nice is now, just a faineant excuse.
The sentiment is play fair.
Don't cheat, trip,or pull hair.
Not participate half way.
Or, if you feel uncomfortable on the field, you don't have to stay.
Competition is good, it teaches us a lot.
From doing less then you should, what sort of lesson is got?
Throw your whole being in the game.
Giving everything, leaving nothing want.
Playing to win is playing nice.
And any less effort, not.
