Thorns stick out, sharp indeed;
\shining in the sun,
\falling like leaves.
\Some will cover and nourish the ground;
\others, they drop and make not a sound.
\For they are like a rose.
\With it's sweet smell and beauty,
\that is embraced by much;
\yet unable to grab hold,
\to reach out and touch.
\For they are like a rose.
