The Stranger

The Stranger
by Troy Allen Houston
Noticed our love is in danger,
to you, I have become 'the stranger'.
At first our love was on fire,
you were all that I desire.
Once, we could not be torn apart,
now, just memories in my heart.
Seems I only see you by chance,
a passerby or maybe a glance.
Thought our love would last forever,
I've become 'the stranger in life's endeavor.
Do you know why this might be?
Let's take a look, maybe we'll see.
Just like a sad country song,
where everything seems to go wrong.
I have done things that you hate,
with this, there is no debate.
You say that you need your space,
I've become 'the stranger' without a face.
Our lives are going in different directions,
we are seeking other people's affections.
As sure as the sky is blue above,
there is no longer anything to love.
There is one thing in life that I find,
I am 'the stranger', out of sight, out of mind.

Troy, get her back. Any love that inspires words like this is worth retaining

It's okay to be a noticing neighbor, still there's "stranger danger".
