Angels to Watch Over You

Angels to watch over you
By Debbie Ache © 2007

I wish I was an angel
So I could surround you with my wings
Wrap you in my love
Protect you from any harm
That may ever come your way

I wish I could smile
And make everything
In your life okay
I wish that I had the ability to
Take away your pain

But I can’t promise you anything
Other than to give you all of my love
So every day, I pray for
God to protect you
And send his angels to watch over you

As you go about your tasks
You must do every day
I wish that I could stay right there
By your side
Just so I know that you are safe and sound

I wish I were an angel
Assigned to keep anything bad
From ever happening to you
I wish I could remove
All of your life’s difficulties out of your path

But I can’t promise you anything
Other than to give you all of my love
So every day, I pray for
God to protect you
And send his angels to watch over you

This was written after my husband had returned to work, after having had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance thinking he was having a heart attack. Luckily, it was a gallbladder issue, not his heart, but it made me anxious for quite a while.

I really love this one. It brings out emotion and it really describes the difficulty of someone not being able to be there.

We all have someone whom we feel this way about. This poem makes me think of that person.

Very nice sentiment. A guardian angel is what you long to be...one day, you may get your wish :-)

Just a longing to be near someone, so I knew he could be okay. .
