WATCHING YOU SLEEP

In streams of light
across the room
I watch you sleep.

Your face is soft,
at rest,
and gentle like stars in early morning.

You lean,
on your side,
knees pulled up
like a baby.

The light
slants across the floor
up the bed posts
and ripples
like waves
across your face.

You blink,
stretch and smile.
I love you even more.
