Cupid Missed

Emotions racing across the ocean
Never stepped on a beach
Inhaling your potion
Far out of reach.

Marching up the stairs
Soon hurried back down
I thought I heard you there
From a knocking like sound.

Sitting on the couch
Watching a little television
I will soon start to slouch
When loneliness becomes an incision.

Maybe I am just stupid
You will never be mine
Not when every arrow of Cupid
Has missed the mark every time.

Everything seems to point towards a lost love. Yet it doesn't say if the person, who was missed by Cupid's arrow, was told about the love, by the person writing the poem, or is rejected by decisions. made by the other. The rejection may have just been a biproduct of the first person's choice to love another.
