Cycle of Life

The sun sinking low has a golden glow.
Heat of summer soon goes away.
The bright colors blend; day comes to an end
With a brilliant final display.

So our life is spent and we are content
To reflect on times that have past.
Our love is glowing, true colors showing,
Remembering all things that last.

As the sun goes down, there's darkness around.
Cool of night and peace we will feel.
With stars shining bright, we can cherish night;
It's a new exciting appeal.

With sadness and mirth returning to earth
The dark night comes soon to embrace.
We are glad to find our own peace of mind
At rest within God's healing grace.

Dawn always will be for sod and for sea;
We are each just one grain of sand.
The sun's sure to rise, return to the skies.
The cycle of life is God's plan.

I wrote this poem many years ago and posted it under the name Continuity. After recently, claiming it, and re-writing it as suggested, here is the new version with improved meter and rhyme.
