The longing
by
cathy lewis
sailing the seas
its cold out
the kind of night you remember well
the wind hits your face
and you smile
your escape from this living hell
you smell the salt in the water
you know its not your imagination
the feeling is unexplainable
and it isnt an exaggeration
the wonder of the beauty
escapes you once again
you remember your horrid past
memories arent your friend
but surrounded by the natural wonder
brings a smile back to the surface
you know where you are and it is good
you sense you have a purpose
the feeling of security
saves you from your insecurties
and you are at peace
once again...
its cold out
the kind of night you remember well
the wind hits your face
and you smile
your escape from this living hell
you smell the salt in the water
you know its not your imagination
the feeling is unexplainable
and it isnt an exaggeration
the wonder of the beauty
escapes you once again
you remember your horrid past
memories arent your friend
but surrounded by the natural wonder
brings a smile back to the surface
you know where you are and it is good
you sense you have a purpose
the feeling of security
saves you from your insecurties
and you are at peace
once again...

A very good concept and good imagery, I should say - a great escape. Brilliant, please view my poems on 'poetry.com'.

a feeling of peace with nature be-cause we are nature, not what some man said we are.
