To Hell and Back

In the shadows of my worst sin
Is a voice forever taunting
In the dark corners of my unforgiveness
Is the stench of my own hatred
In the dead pit of my cold heart
Is a stagnant pool of blood
I search for the line between the pain in my body
And the pain in my mind
But I'm lost
Alone
And blind....................

In a radiant stab of pure light
I can see all that was lovely
In a tornado of forgotten hope
I am lifted, weightless and free
In a spark of blissful remembrance
I am once again a man
For a moment...for a thousand years, I'm in paradise
And I can see her face
My daughter
Alive
And smiling

I love the transition of pain to one of happiness. It's important not to dwell in sadness when the focus should be oriented towards what is beautiful ... please check out my blog: destinationisuncertain.blogspot.com
