Wormwood's Treasure

See him suspended there glorious and bright,
His light hard as iron and heart black as night;
His inclinations jet toward God's throne,
Now my master's focuses begin to hone,
The dominion of heaven is our conquest,
Then punish and enslave man with all our zest!

To crush that wretched image under cloven feet,
And gain the crown God has hidden in their meat!

I once worshipped the Creator and Lord,
But Lucifer promised more for my eternal hoard,
With a blazing light across heaven I trail,
I am the barbed hook...I am the Dragon's tail,
One third of all hosts I drag into the world,
To seek the secret riches of powers still unfurled.

I poison the waters and make sick the child,
To shun this God who dares call ME reviled!

I have never had enough to be content,
Now I am fallen and my life force is spent...
Where are the accolades of praise promised me?
Where is the kingdom of slaves for my treasury?
My heart would take heaven's gates once more,
If the mighty rock was not guarding the door!

- Wormwood never gained what he sought,
Instead only pain and horror were forever bought...
