Until Then

another gutless wonder
made sure he was safe
from flying bullets and death
by wearing body armor
and a gas mask, afraid
of being hurt by someone
throwing popcorn at his chest
or seeing any tears in his bloody eyes,

more dangerous and mean
than the movie on the screen

cowards in sheep's clothing
are grazing amongt us
with slaughter their only way
of getting attention

but I'd like to offer a notion
to others who might consider
pulling a trigger on innocent people -

some of us sheep are armed and more dangerous
than you can imagine and we don't shoot at body armor
or throw good, hot-buttered popcorn at idiots - we stop them from killing
and living instantly, by ways you have no way of knowing,
other than by continuing to be the gutless coward you know you are -
while you're hoping we never meet in the same place at the same time. But until then, seek help -  you've got the attention now you so desperately wanted - but it ain't the kind you really sought.

You speak the truth and I agree with you 100%! Very powerful, in your face poem; I love it! Great poem.

a little hard to relate

Gunman kills 12 and wounds many others at Aurora California movie theater last night during "A Dark Knight Rising" - it's all over the news. If that doesn't help "relate" then I don't care.
