Poet ‘Til the End
This could very well be the last poem I’ll ever write.
I’ve written about everything that had meaning in my life.
From my childhood, to my dogs, to my loving wife,
Of good times, bad times, of joy and strife.
Of people I’ve known, places I’ve been,
Some of which, I have only imagined.
I do enjoy writing poetry, about most anything,
From a Pirate’s ship, to a gentle kiss and whatever lies between.
Yes, I am getting older and my pen is slowing down,
It won’t be long, I dare say, until, I go to ground.
Until I do, I promise you, I’ll keep writing as before,
Up until I get my wings and knock on Heaven’s door.
