A Dog and 17 Baby Goats
by
Dale Raymond
Newborn baby goats are pure delight;
They jump and play all day and all night.
It is their way to say
everything in the world is all right.
Seventeen of them born the last two weeks this Spring,
Each one of them the cutest little thing;
Joy to my heart
is what thoughts of them bring.
Does the goat herder write a poem about this?
No, the baby goats are a complete miss;
He writes about how eating the after birth
gives his dog pure bliss.
