Respect Your elders

For those who live much longer,
It can be a sad existence.
The younger may be stronger,
But they haven't gone the distance.

No need to laugh and point,
They're not here for your amusement.
The tightening of their joints,
Has caused a lack of movement.

You better learn this now,
They have knowledge that is immense.
They sure could show you how,
To live a life that makes sense.

You may never achieve that Golden age,
But there is no need to stare.
They're not animals who've been encaged,
Just older folks with flare.

This may be one of the weakest efforts, but it means much to me. In this world, elders are disrespected on a daily basis. This has been the "greying of America". They are the majority, but many of us treat them like the minority. Regardless of your opinions of this poem, I suggest you REspect your elders SON!

The rhymes are a bit simplistic and feel almost forced to fit, but otherwise solid.

I like it, very descriptive, but didn't appeal to me the way it should have.
