If I could Sing

If I could sing I would sing you a song,
About how you were there for me when my life went wrong.
There was a lot of sh*t I kept bottled up, it was hard to hold onto,
Till I picked up my pen and started writting about you.
I would let it all out and showed my vulnerable side,
You embraced me with every step even when I wanted to die.
I had so much weight on my neck it felt like it was breaking,
till I got tired of living up to everyones expectations.
Dont think I won't ever forget-
about what you did for me, I have no regrets.
Even though I was dealing with the cards that I was dealt,
You stood by my side and didn't look for somebody else.
You saw something greater in me that I couldn't see,
Taking the weight off my shoulders, setting my soul free.
I would do anything for you just to see you smile,
If I could sing I would sing for you making it worth your while.
I have been through hell and back and you never gave up,
You cared about me when no one else even gave a f*ck.
People casted stones you built a foundation,
Turned me into a better person repairing my inner sanctum.
I would come home from work emotionally drained,
You helped me see the sunlight through the dirt and the rain.
Since I cant sing you a song I want to say,
You bring me sunshine even through my darkest days.
My children and you is what im living for,
f*ck everyone on the outside, you're the one I adore.
So here's to you the love of my life,
Thank you for keeping me happy and my soul alive.
If I could sing I would sing my heart out to you
but, since I cant sing all I can say is thank you....

This poem was written about a very special woman in my life who has been there for me through it all. I love her very much and she will always have my upmost respect. When the world shuts me out, she embraces me.

You have a gift and I believe that you write what's in your heart and in your soul. It pours from the pen onto the paper like silk. Excellent work Michael:)
