Forever

I have talked about it and wrote about it and wrote about is some more,
In spite of my best efforts I became the same as I was before,
You may ask what is now different than any other time,
Like back when I used drugs or commited so much crime,
The difference I tell you now is that God has intervened,
He has burned into my heart that His name will not be demeaned,
I cannot say I am His and truly be on the level,
If all the while I am out there behaving like the devil,
Provoking a Holy God and forcing Him to grab my heart,
Is a very frightful thing and truly not too smart,
For God's ways are forever and they do not change,
How can I know Him and find his correction strange,
The truth is I cannot I have followed my own will,
Then just when I needed it most He showed me He loves me still.

Christians cannot live their own way in spite of what they know to be right. This is my experience of having God shake my world and remind me who I belong to then loving afterward.
