Please read very carefully for the answers to your questions about publication.

Page Length / Contents
You can publish a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" book with 60, 80, or 100 pages (a page is one side of a sheet).

Your book can contain any of the following:

- poems - a personal statement
- short stories - your biography
- other prose - an introduction
- your own illustrations or photos - a dedication
- other artwork - a table of contents
- almost any other material you wish
   to include
- blank pages

Your first step is to gather all your material together and decide how you wish to present it in your book. Keep in mind that many poetry books contain more than poetry: blank pages, illustrations, chapter headings, etc.

Next, determine how many pages you need. Remember that one page can comfortably hold 28-30 lines (stanza breaks count as one line each). Each line may contain up to 60 characters.

Put your pages in the order you wish them to appear and carefully number the back of each page.

Your first two pages must be the Title Page and Copyright Page, so that you can properly register your work with the Copyright Office. There are no exceptions. We will design these first two pages for you (see samples).

Title Page and Copyright Page
Remember, these pages must be included as the first two pages of your book. We will design these two pages based on the information you supply in the Step 1 section of your Book Design/Order Form. We will also assign an ISBN number to your book and provide you with all necessary forms and instructions to register your copyright with the Copyright Office. Please see samples below.
