Masks
Out Of Everyone
You Are
Masks
Sitting here surrounded by many,
Yet feeling so alone;
No one aware that anything is wrong,
They don't even seem to notice the tears;
No one bothering or taking the time to see what's wrong,
Yet from miles away, here you come...
Sensing that something's amiss,
Taking the time, caring enough to ask,
Trying to see behind the mask;
The mask of fake smiles...the mask of fake joy...
I know that I say "I'm fine"...
I know that I say "nothing's wrong"...
I know I say whatever it will take to get the questions to stop,
But yet you still try to see past the mask, the mask of lies...
I wish I knew what to say,
I wish I knew how to say what's wrong...
But the answers, they just do not come...
