I am sitting here hurting
as I see pregnacies at age 13
knocked up and aburdened
without any love or friend

I am sitting here tense
as I see children losing their innoscence
at the age of their adolescence
oh the power of crime in its presence

I am sitting here aching
as I see homicides at 18
just another victem of the gun
and to think...this isn't the only one

I am sitting here in pity
as I see whats become of my city
in its lifestyle-ever so gritty
...I sit here and wonder-how long til I too lose my dignity?
